I have a wall in my living room that has been screaming for a personal touch so I decided to use up one of my canvases that I bought awhile back when Michael's was having a sale on them. I've seen several versions of this sign but none matched exactly what I wanted on mine, so I got busy and created my own. This file was created from the heart so I hope that you love it just as much as I do.

I designed this to fit on a 16 x 20 canvas so the file is broken down into 2 separate cuts so that I could cut it on my Cricut Explore. Edited to add that I decided to go back in and edit the file so that you have the option of cutting the word "FAMILY" in a different color if you choose, this version ends with V2 in the zip file. The zip also contains a version that can be cut on a 12x12 mat if you don't happen to have the 24", it is the file named Family Subway Art SVG Divided.

Download

This is an SVG only file so there is no direct link to a Cricut Design Space project. You can download the SVG file Family Subway Art - All Versions.

Do you want offer this in any other type of file. I would love to add it to a picture for my mom, but I don’t have a circuit.

Are you just wanting to print it? If so, most browsers will open SVG files and allow you to print.

Can I size this bigger in design space and the font still look smooth? (I know sometimes when you make things bigger the font starts to look jagged)

Hi Stefanie. Sorry it has taken so long for me to reply…for some reason I haven’t been getting notified of comments.
To answer your question, yes, you can enlarge the file without getting any jagged edges.

Do you know if this can be used in Silhouette Cameo? I have downloaded and zipped but it only allows me to open it in a browser? Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you for sharing your beautiful hard work

It can be cut on a Cameo but you need to have, at least, Designer Edition of Silhouette Studio in order to open SVG files.

I adore this so much! I am going to try and make this to hang over my piano, but have never done anything type of vinyl on canvas before. You said you painted the canvas first, with what type of paint? Then you placed the vinyl on it, was it 651? Did you cover the vinyl or canvas with anything after? I do not want to mess this up, it is so wonderful. Thank you. If you would rather e-mail me, my address is johannalittleton@hotmail.com Thank you so much! 🙂

Hi Johanna! I painted my canvas using the cheap craftsmart acrylics from Michael’s and then a thin layer of clear satin (rust oleum). Then I applied my lettering using 651 vinyl. I do not seal any of my vinyl and have never had an issue with it lifting. Hope this helps!

Hi Kelly. If you are wanting to cut it to fit on something 12×12 then it can be resized in DS. The version that most people were asking to be sent to them is if you wanted to cut it larger but only have the 12×12 mat to work with.

If you select all the layers once you get it uploaded and inserted into Design Space the size should be 14.09 x 18.78 overall. This is the size that I cut it for my 16 x 20 canvas.

Where you have show and then passion, what is the word in the middle meant to be?

Thank you again for this lovely creation. Now to figure out how to do it on my Silhouette. I’ve got a 12 x 24 mat coming today. Which means my design will be 12 x 24, instead of 16 x 20 Not sure how to “divide” the file in half, but I’ll get it………still a newbie, but loving every minute of it. I am so grateful for your design and your willingness to share. Your talent and kindness is truly a blessing for ALL of us.

It has been awhile since I’ve used the Silhouette software but if I remember correctly you will need to ungroup the file after you bring it in, it’s already separated into 2 cuts, and then you’ll need to rotate each half so that it will cut vertical instead of horizontal.

Thank you so much for this beautiful piece of art. I’ve been looking at it and can’t figure out how you cut it in two sections so it would work in your Cricut. Both of my sons bought homes last week and I’d love to make each of then one of these to hang in their new homes.

If you cut it at the size it is to fit on a 16×20 canvas it will turn each half sideways when you go to cut. You’ll need a 24″ mat because each half is roughly 14″ x 9.5″. If you upload the file to Design Space and click the GO button you’ll understand it a bit better. 🙂
